Product Description

Proclaim your love for all things Irish with our

Cast Iron Eire Plaque!

* This is a reproduction of plaques that hang outside of post offices and other public buildings throughout Ireland. Detailed knotwork designs abound, surrounding and decorating the traditional Irish symbol, the folk or lever harp, with Ireland written in Gaelic below it.

* The harp has been used as a political symbol of Ireland for centuries. Its origin is from the time of the famous High King of Ireland, Brian Boru, who played the harp.  The Irish Free State has used a harp as its state symbol since 1922, which was based on the harp in the Library of Trinity College in Dublin.  The harp also appears on Irish coins from the Middle Ages to the current Irish Euro coins.

Erin plaque measures 11 inches tall, 9 inches wide, & 3/4 inch thick.  Hole at top of plaque for easy hanging.
* This will weather naturally if outside or, to retain original finish, simply spray with a protective clear-coat before exposing to the elements.

* Makes a wonderful GIFT for the St. Patrick's Day, Guinness, Harp beer, or Saint Paddy's fan in your life!
