Rolf Armstrong (1890-1960) is considered the father of American pin-up painting.
A one-time pro boxer, Armstrong was born in Michigan and attended the famed Chicago Art Institute.
Surviving original examples of his work are among the most valuable pin-ups today.
This print is a reproduction of his 1920’s, art deco era, glamour-art painting “Cleopatra”.
Portrays a beautiful, exotic woman in an Egyptian setting, done in the same style as Hesser’s “Persian Night”. Very reminiscent of Claudette Colbert! Tastefully risque, semi-nude draped over a cushion with her leopard, cheetah, or panther.
Done in rich color, on high quality, heavy weight paper.
